Get involved with the continuing restoration of Cusworth Park. The sessions include a range of conservation, restoration & habitat management projects in the Park.

All training & protective equipment provided.

Suitable footwear & clothing is recommended, bring a packed lunch or visit the on-site Tea Room.

Renishaw Hall - The Fascinating Collections of Sir Osbert Sitwell

 

The Performance Gallery is featuring the amazing collections of Sir Osbert Sitwell – Champion for the Arts – many of the items unseen including works by Picasso, Rex Whistler, Wyndham Lewis and Cecil Beaton to name but a few.  Open Thursday to Sunday from 1st April until 26th September.

Admission free with Hall & Garden or Garden only ticket.

Wortley Hall Friday Afternoon Guided Walks

 

Wortley Hall has 15 acres of formal Italianate gardens surrounded by 11 acres of informal pleasure grounds, a delight at any time of year. A broad terrace, surrounded by shrub roses, overlooks the hollow garden which is planted up with a collection of dwarf rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias and Agapanthus. Clipped Yew hedges, stone balustrades, a fish pond and arbours all add to the formal elegance. Spring finds Wortley Hall at its best with huge clumps of snowdrops followed later by drifts of daffodils and a haze of bluebells under the trees. £2.50pp. Meet outside reception door at 2pm.

Wortley Hall gardens specialist plant fair is held within the grounds of Wortley Hall and offers the keen gardener a chance to buy plants from a number of specialist nurseries. Plants such as geraniums, clematis, alpines, herbaceous, violas, herbs, shrubs, grasses, ferns and much, much more.

Renishaw Hall - Christmas Hall Tours

 

See how the magnificent rooms in the Hall are decorated at Christmas and enjoy a fascinating guided tour by a knowledgeable guide, who loves the Hall and is well versed in its history, able to show you the treasures collected by generation of Sitwells. The rooms will glow in candlelight, decorations will sparkle and welcoming fires will crackle in the hearth. 
Refreshments will be served and a small selection of Christmas gifts will be on sale in the hall.
Tours at 11.30am, 2.30pm and 6.00pm.

Wortley Hall Christmas Guided Walk

 

Walk off the Christmas Festivities with a guided tour of Wortley Hall Gardens.

The pleasure ground at Wortley Hall are a real aboricultural treat . Take a walk of discovery and see the wide range of unusual trees some older than the hall and some more recent. 18th and 19th century plantings including Giant Sequoia, Bhutan Pine, Scots pine, Sweet Chestnut, Beech and a ancient hollow Oak some 500 years old. More recent plantings include collections of Hollys, Sorbus and Walnut £2.50pp. Meet outside Reception door at 2pm.
